Abstract
This paper presents the Civil Registry Identification (IdRC), an electronic identity provider integrated with the biographic databases of Brazilian citizens through the public records of birth, marriage and death kept by the Civil Registry Offices of Natural Persons. Because it draws on primary data, IdRC differs from other electronic identity providers: with the user's authorisation, it can supply service providers with foundational attributes, proof of life and other information.
